Our Sedation Services
Sedation is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why MAC Anesthesia offers a full range of intravenous (IV) sedation options—each tailored to the individual needs of your patients and procedures. We closely collaborate with the provider and patient to determine the most appropriate level of sedation.
Anxiolysis (Minimal Sedation)
A light, drug-induced state where patients remain calm but fully responsive to verbal commands. Ideal for short or minimally invasive procedures.
Moderate Sedation (“Conscious Sedation”)
Patients experience a reduced level of consciousness but can still respond purposefully to verbal cues. Breathing remains unaffected. Commonly used in dental surgery and minor medical procedures.
Deep Sedation
A deeper level of sedation where patients are not easily awakened but can respond to repeated or painful stimuli. Ventilatory function may be impaired, and careful monitoring is required.
General Anesthesia
A complete loss of consciousness, typically reserved for longer or more invasive procedures. Patients are unresponsive and unable to maintain independent ventilation. Requires advanced airway management and close monitoring.
All sedation is administered by certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) with hospital-level training and experience. Patient safety is always our top priority.
Technology & Compliance
We take privacy and accuracy seriously. MAC Anesthesia uses electronic anesthesia records and HIPAA-compliant communication tools to safeguard personal health information and streamline your workflow.
